Joyner Group were appointed by M R Allen in 2021 to carry out the external render package at the refurbishment of the old St Mary’s Hospital which has now been turned into premium student accommodation on behalf of Empiric Student Property in the Clifton area of Bristol.
Due to this being an existing building that had been partially demolished, our main challenge was working with an uneven substrate on large parts of the building that involved dubbing out areas and removing excess material to create a flat surface suitable for the Alsecco Flexewall System.
An Alsecco render system was specified with a fibre glass mesh reinforced crack resistant base coat and silicone textured topcoat.
A total of 1775m2 of Alscco Flexewall Impact render only system was installed.
